Your Whangarei Bed and Breakfast hosts:

A bed and breakfast should not be just a bed for the night but a delightful experience that enhances your stay away from your home. With this in mind Eden House Bed and Breakfast near Whangarei was established to provide guests with both accommodation and happy memories.

Originally from England, Richard and Carole enjoy travel, having lived for seven years in Malawi where Richard worked as an engineer and Carole for the British High Commission. It was there that they started their family of two, Damien and Keren.

Richard enjoys the theatre, writing, directing and treading the boards whilst Carole does props and sets. Carole was an active member of the scouting movement for over twenty years, both in England and in Whangarei with the sea scouts.

Since 2003 they have spent three and half years working on remote islands in the Solomon Islands and also a year working in the stunning Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan.

They now enjoy meeting other travellers from around the world.

Eden House:

Eden House was built in 1998 as a Tuscan chateau overlooking stunning scenery to the distant pacific. The rooms were adapted to incorporate the Bed and Breakfast facilities without eroding the ambience of the building itself.

The house nestles in private New Zealand forest with an exciting trail through Jurassic bush down to a small creek.

Local wildlife:

The area is Kiwi conservation so we avoided domestic animals. We now enjoy prolific bird life, specifically Tuis, Fantails, native Pigeons and Rosellas. At night the haunting cry of the Morepork echoes across the valley and there is the occasional scuttle of a possum's feet upon the wooden decks.

A stay at Eden House Bed & Breakfast Whangarei has been described by guests as a moment in Paradise. Richard and Carole look forward to welcoming you to their wonderful home.
